"Sketches around the world" in Poland

Z rysunkiem dokoła świata

A window opening to the world

IV c grade students from Primary School no. 34 in Łódź.

«Lublinek» airport is a special place for us. Thanks to it the world has become so close to us!
For us, Lublinek symbolises the future, the airport is «a window opening to the world». In the future Lublinek will let us meet many persons, many cultures, learn new things and maybe will let us find a job.

Closed window...

Looking at our project first we see a closed window, which in our imagination is a part of a wooden house Łódź citizens used to live at our grandparents' times.

... and open window

Having opened the window, we discover what changes have taken place in our times. The window opens to a new life waiting for us. Its course has not been sketched yet. We dream of Łódź being constantly a focal point for people and becoming a city of our dreams when we grow up. This is what our dream is like:

In the middle of the picture there is «Lublinek» airport; multicoloured flowers grow on the edges. An airplane is standing on a runway. You can also notice that one sunbeam reaches the airplane. We imagined that in the future it would be possible to use such energy to travel ecologically. Thanks to this the world could develop further, keeping equilibrium in the nature at the same time. That's what we wish.

The works were made of waste coming from things nobody needed any more... In this way we wish to remind everybody that beautiful things can be made of recycled objects.

We hope you like our project!

The whole group thanks for letting us participate in this so special and original competition.
