When our parents were children, there were many farms in our village. The peasants raised pigs, cows, hens, geese and ducks. Frequently there were piles of manure In the middle of these farms. People went to fetch water from fountains and wastewater ran away into a small river. The streets were not in very good condition, but the agricultural sector supported many people.
Today, there are farms and individual renovated houses in our village. As children, we are very happy with our new playground. Trees and hedges have been planted there, which is very nice.
The inhabitants of our village are very proud of the wastewater treatment plant which has been built not far from Brahmenau - see the top left of our drawing.
Thanks to this facility, wastewater no longer runs away directly into our small river. Fish, frogs and other animals have now come to live there as well!
Today, we feel happy in our village!
