The Winning Message: Palhoça

Class 4a of Aririú da Formiga school

What worries us most is garbage sorting in the different districts of the community of La Pinheira, in Palhoça. Here, in our town, people throw their garbage anywhere. In the face of this situation, a solution was found: create a recycling factory.
For this project to get off the ground, certain changes are necessary.

Here are our ideas:

We would like people to become aware of how important it is to sort waste. We could:

  • Organize conferences, school activities, etc.
  • Create campaigns giving information about the importance of recycling,
  • Promote a system for selective sorting as, at the moment, this only exists in a small area of the town.

The aim of our project is to:

  • Reduce pollution
  • Improve cleanness in the town and the quality of life of the inhabitants
  • Create jobs

Recycling is very important for the conservation of the planet as tons and tons of waste is generated every day. Very often, it pollutes the rivers, the soil and the air.

To avoid wasting natural resources, it is important that our planet's inhabitants consume responsibly. Everybody should look after his own belongings, everybody should take care not to waste anything and take steps to recycle products that are recyclable as much as possible. We believe that selective sorting centers are a true source of wealth.

By selectively sorting household garbage, it is possible to get immediate benefits such as a change in people's attitudes, a cleaner environment, reduced soil pollution, as well as better quality of life...

We can all do something for our planet!
