A Scroll around the World

The Scroll around the World, a children's campaign on the theme of "Living well in our city - collecting hints for your environment and your health", reached over 8500 children in the 24 cities of the 17 countries where the scroll stopped.

Awareness of their environment

In each of the cities of the itinerary, children spent time thinking about the environmental issues relating to their city and the connection of these issues with their good health on a daily basis. They then drew their messages and recommendations on the large scroll.

Overall, the children mentioned the need to keep their city clean, air pollution problems caused by cars and factories, the advantages of public transport, the quality of river and sea waters, the need to save energy and to chose renewable energy solutions and, of course, nature conservation.

Planet-wide challenges

Children showed great interest in the work of children from other countries on the scroll. That way, they discovered they shared the same concerns and that environmental challenges are definitely a global issue.
