A light bulb, to live better

In a village in Mali, the installation of a single light bulb has changed the life of all its residents

It's a simple story. The village didn't have any electricity, so the houses had no lighting. As soon as night fell, everybody went home. The womenfolk crouched around a candle to prepare the meal or to supervise the children's homework.

A simple yet wonderful idea

Then, a wonderful idea became a reality.

A pole equipped with a photovoltaic panel was installed, right in the middle of the courtyard of the village school. As a result, the children could do their homework without harming their eyes, night classes were held for children who had to work at home or in the fields during the day. Also, adults could hold meetings there in the light.

This is how a simple light bulb changed the entire life of the residents of a village and brought great progress to life in the community.

Photovoltaic energy

The photovoltaic cells in solar panels allow you to produce electricity from light energy. Originally used for satellites, photoelectric energy now has many applications: not only in calculators, timers, buoys and telecommunications links, but also for powering houses or isolated villages.
