The objective is to enable each teacher to find materials for numerous sessions without needing to spend extra time doing their own research.
This depends on how much time they wish to devote to the operation, the interest shown by their pupils, the project in which they have included the operation and their teaching methods.
Both the workbook and the teacher's guide are practical classroom tools that leave teachers free to adapt and use them as they please.
All the educational material was developed in close collaboration with teachers. It was designed for use first and foremost with children between the ages of 9 and 11.
The two aids complement each other.
The questions and information given in the children's workbook require teacher support so that the ideas do not become simplistic or caricatures, but rather widen children's fields of knowledge.
The tone used in both is neutral so they can be adapted as widely as possible.
The teaching aids target children who live in, or are familiar with, an urban environment.
