The event

On May 13, the scroll arrived in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, from Görlitz.

The scroll was welcomed at 11.00 am by representatives of Veolia Environnement's four divisions at the Prague Water Museum.

Over 60 children from three primary schools in Prague, which had taken part in the drawing competition, attended the ceremony during which the selected drawing was added to the scroll by a small group of children.

As Tereza Grafnetterova, who designed the drawing, explained: The message represents the symbolic struggle of people who are not indifferent to quality of life in cities and on our planet in general.

A fun day-out had been organized for the children, who were able to visit the water museum, watch a film about water treatment and work with the educational water trunk. Those who were not involved in the drawing thought about simple ways of making a difference and put their messages on small banners of color paper, which they stuck to balloons and took back to their schools.

Each child went home with a small gift, as well as pleasant memories of their day-out.

The same evening, the scroll set off for Olomouc, its second port of call in the Czech Republic.
