The event
The Boston leg of Scroll Around the World kicked off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7th at Boston's historic South Station.
The scroll was unveiled in the center of the station protected by velvet ropes.
Connex's Jim Stoetzel served as master of ceremonies and greeted the four young artists arriving on the 10:14 train from Roslindale.
The children were selected from It's All About Arts, local a nonprofit arts organization that encourages artists of all ages.
As Jim began his comments, the children began to draw under the supervision of their art instructor.
Approximately 50 people attended the event including Boston City Councilors Rob Consalvo and John Tobin who offered brief remarks.
A number of MBCR managers and staff also attended the event as well as family and friends of the artists and the media.
