The last stop of the Scroll around the World

The 24 students of the La Fontaine primary school represented France on the Scroll and drew their ideas and messages on June 15th in the Léon Blum hall in Arras.

To prepare the event, all the students individually had drawn their ideas concerning the environment and health under the guidance of their teacher, Lionel Lefèvre. During the whole school year, the class studied a specially designed programme on environmental issues.

Following the drawing session, the children explained their work during a ceremony attended by:

  • Philippe Rappeneau, Vice mayor for Arras and in charge of the environment and sustainable development portfolio,
  • Thierry Spas, Vice mayor in charge of education and health,
  • Mrs Joséphine Zagarria formelly representing Guy Labenne Arras 1 Education inspector,
  • and Paul Mousty, Director of the Générale des Eauxoperational centre for the Artois sector andofficial representative for Veolia Environnement.
